Canadian television series Anne with an E is based on Lucy Maud Montgomery’s 1908 classic piece of children’s literature, Anne of Green Gables. For CBC.

After deciding to take in an orphan boy to help around their old farm in Green Gables on the outskirts of Canada in 1896.

Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert (who remained together because they were never married) set out to adopt him.

A young woman of originality, intelligence, zest, and conversational vigour is the ideal candidate for Matthew to pick up the youngster at the railroad occupation.

As a baby, Anne was orphaned when her parents disappeared, and she worked as a housekeeper for several families before she was sent to an institution.

After a while, Marilla loses faith in Anne, given her reputation as an anonymous youngster and the practical inability of a younger girl to contribute.
