Carnival Row Season 2 Production Update: Is Filming for the New Episodes Over?
Yes! Carnival Row Season 2 is expected to premiere soon after its early 2019 renewal, but the show has already suffered a number of difficulties following last year’s COVID-19.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, production was discontinued in March 2020. However, Amazon had not yet announced an official release date as the production crew began preparing to resume filming in the first week of May.
Fast forward to May of 2021, when filming started in the Czech Republic to finish up the remaining scenes starring Orlando Bloom, who was unable to work last year owing to his pregnancy with Katy Perry’s first child.
Carnival Row Season 2 Release Date: Is it Coming Out in June 2022?
In June 2022, Amazon Prime Video does not include Carnival Row Season 2 on their list of new movies and TV series.
Carnival Row Season 2 has yet to be released on Amazon Prime Video as of the time of this writing.
We’re looking at a release date of Q3 or Q4 2022 for Carnival Row Season 2 assuming production goes as smoothly as the first season did, which took over 17 months to complete.
Despite the fact that filming for Season 2 has officially wrapped, it’s quite doubtful that we’ll see the premiere of the new season in the near future.
You should expect months of CG work before the final product is ready for release. It’s not out of the question that Amazon will premiere the series in late 2022 or early 2023.
Carnival Row Season 2 Episode Count: How many Episodes Will the New Season Have?
The second season of Carnival Row will include eight episodes, much as the first. While the titles of the episodes have yet to be announced by Amazon, we do know who is writing the majority of them.
Sarah Byrd wrote the second episode; Wesley Strick wrote Episode 3; Dylan Gallagher and Mateja Bozicevic wrote Episode 4; and Tania Lotia wrote the fifth episode.
This means that the titles of the episodes will most likely be revealed by Amazon a few days before to the show’s official debut.
The showrunner for Carnival Row Season 2 is all new. Deadline has confirmed that Erik Oleson has taken over as showrunner, following the departures of Travis Beacham and Marc Guggenheim.

Carnival Row Season 2 Plot: What can we Expect?
There is no official summary for Carnival Row Season 2, although it is likely that we will learn more about the segregation that occurred at the end of Season 1.
Segregation was used in the final episode of Season 1 to separate magical creatures from their human counterparts. Philo decided to join Vignette in the ghetto since he realised that he, too, is a half-magical creature.
Season 1 ended with Agreus and Imogen escaping to a ship and a more secure location. When the authorities ordered their ship to return, they refused to go back.
Imogen’s character, played by Tazmin Merchant, has hinted at what lies ahead for her and Agreus in Season 2.
