A Brief Description of the Shield of the Rising Hero

Aneko Yusagi’s light novel work, The Rising of the Shield Hero, has been made into an anime series. There will be a second and third season, which was confirmed during the 2019 Crunchyroll Expo.

The second season will premiere in 2021 at the 2020 virtual Crunchyroll Expo. DR Movie and Kinema Citrus produced the film, which was directed by Masato Jinbo in the stead of Takao Abo.

Kadokawa Light Novel Expo 2020 announced that the second season would launch in October 2021, but that date was later changed. AT-X and other networks aired the second season opener on April 6, 2022.

There will be a total of thirteen episodes. Opening and closing themes are sung by MADKID and Chiai Fujikawa, respectively, with the former being “Bring Back” and the latter being “Yuzurenai” ().

The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 Confirmation by Crunchyroll

A Crunchyroll announcement from May 2, 2022 announced the May 4, 2022 5:00 p.m. EST/2:00 p.m. PST release time for The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 English dub.

According to Crunchyroll’s announcement on April 11th, 2022, the Shield Hero Season 2 dub will be available in English, Spanish for the Latin American market, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, and Russian.

In the past, the English dub of Shield Hero was released on the same day that new episodes were released in Japan, however this practise has now been discontinued.

Season 1 of Shield Hero had a delay in the dubbed production and it appears that Season 2 will also suffer from a lack of adherence to the Simuldub timetable.

Where to Watch The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2?

In North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania and the Middle East and CIS countries Crunchyroll will stream the second season of the show each week as a simulcast.

Kinema Citrus (the production company behind the show) was forced to delay the start of the second season by two years from its intended October 2021 launch date.

The production team and associated distribution partners did not identify the reason for the delay, but it was likely due to the current production challenges in Japan caused by the coronavirus outbreak.

Although the second season only features 13 episodes, the good news is that the third season has already been approved!

What to Expect from The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2

We’ll be following Naofumi Iwatani and his pals Filo and Raphtalia again in the upcoming second season of Rising of the Shield Hero.

They’ll probably spend the season digging deeper into the mystery of the Waves of Calamity’s origins.

Season one introduced the Waves of Calamity in small doses, but by the end of the season, they had made landing on Earth.

At this point, the conflict can be resolved with one side becoming more powerful and the other being annihilated.

Naofumi, as the Shield Hero, learns early on that he and his fellow heroes are tasked with repelling the Waves.

The focus of Season 2 of Rising of the Shield Hero will most likely be on Naofumi’s team’s quest to learn more about the Waves and how to stop them.

Is There a Season 3 of The Rising of The Shield Hero?

To the delight of diehard fans, a definitive conclusion to The Rising of the Shield Hero has already been reached.

The production of a third season was confirmed when the anime was renewed for a second season at Crunchyroll Expo in September 2019!

Given the manga’s extensive source material and the franchise’s global fan base, few fans were surprised by this development.

Season 3 of The Rising of the Shield Hero has yet to be announced, but more details are expected to be revealed following the conclusion of the second broadcast in late June.

Where to Watch Rising of The Shield Hero Season 1 Online?

Season 2 of the Shield Hero will be streamed simultaneously on Crunchyroll, according to the Japanese series’ official website.

Crunchyroll and Funimation both offer the subtitled and dubbed versions of the first season, which is presently available.

It costs £7.99 a month to join Crunchyroll and £4.99 a month to join Funimation’s premium service. Apple TV customers can purchase individual episodes of the anime series for $1.99.

Only a small number of countries, mostly in Asia, have access to Netflix or Amazon Prime, so don’t hold your breath for the release of season 2.

Conclusion

Fans of Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 are eagerly awaiting its arrival in less than 24 hours. After numerous setbacks, the second season of the hugely popular Winter 2019 anime series is finally set to air.

The second season of Rising of the Shield Hero has been one of the most eagerly awaited in recent memory. As a result of its innovative storytelling and writing, and since the protagonist was a lesser warrior in his group, season one was a big hit in the Isekai genre.
